GENERAL INFORMATION:

The Junior Circuit Tournaments (JCT) are design to make competitive play more accessible for our Lubbock juniors. These one day tournaments will be held on Saturdays throughout the summer for players in the Lubbock area.  Points are accumulated to qualify for the MASTERS tournament.  The circuit provides competitive practice for every level player, therefore, all players are encouraged to participate.  Entry fee is $16.00/player.  Entry deadline is 6:00pm Tuesday prior to each tournament.  Come to this site to get first round match times and review the draw which will be available by 12:00 noon on the Friday prior to each tournament. Also, this site will maintain any schedule changes or updates.

Points will accumulate from each tournament.  Players will get 2 points for entering and playing in a tournament, 2 points for each main draw and round robin win, and 1 point in each consolation draw win.  The purpose of the circuit is to encourage play, therefore, no points are awarded for Byes or Defaults.  Points will be updated after each tournament.  The top 16 players will be invited to participate in the JCT Masters.  If any of the top 16 can not participate, additional players will be accepted until the draw of 16 is filled.  GOOD LUCK!

If you have other questions, please call 806-793-4445.

EVENTS:

The singles events offered will be:
          QS8, QS10 (& Under)
          Boys 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 (& Under) Singles
          Girls 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 (& Under) Singles
(Minimum of 3 players to hold an event. If a draw does not make, players may be moved or divisions may be combined to make a draw.)

New this Season -> QUICKSTART TENNIS - (QS8 & QS10)

The QuickStart Tennis format is about fitting tennis to kids based on age and physical size. For the 5-8 year olds, the court dimensions are 36' long and 18' wide. For the 9-10 year olds, the court dimensions are 60' long and 21' wide. By modifying the court dimensions, equipment (racquets and balls), net height and scoring system, kids can start playing at a very early age.

QuickStart Scoring System
- The QuickStart Tennis scoring system is simple.
QS8 - With 8 & Under there are only seven points in a game, so match play is short and sweet. Kids play the best of the three games; the first to score seven points wins the game. The first to win two games wins the match. The longest a match will last is approximately 20 minutes.
QS10 - The 10 & Under will play the best of three sets; the first to win four games wins a set. For the third set, the first player to win seven points wins the match.
