tie-breaker will be played for the third set.
- Players will be allowed to play at their own level or at a higher level.
(Example: A 3.0 player may play 3.5 doubles.)
- Please email score to USPTALeague@lubbocktennis.com
as soon after each match is
played as possible. Updates of the League Sheets will be posted often online.
If the results for a match is not posted, it may not yet be reported and
should be reported as soon as possible.
-
The team listed first on the schedule is the "home team" and is responsible
for reserving courts and for all court and guest fees. Contact each club
or facility for information on their fee structure and guest policy. The
home team should contact the visiting team well before the scheduled
round to arrange a site and time. It is the responsibility of both teams to
schedule and play all matches. Both team should bring a new can of
balls; the winning team takes the new unopened can.. Designate levels are
assigned to the following nights:

Tuesday, 7:00 pm |

- A 15 minute default rule will be in effect for all matches. Forfeits will
follow USTA rules.
- Match times will be agreed upon by the team captains. Play must begin
before 8:30 p.m.
- The score should be turned in immediately after the completion of a match.
- All matches should be played within one week of a scheduled date. If a
time cannot be agreed upon, the match must be played at the originally
scheduled time.
- The winners of the league will be determined by the team with the most
matches won. In case of a tie, the following criteria will be used:
1. Least sets lost
2. Least games lost
- Play-offs will be scheduled for divisions with more than one flight.
- If
there are two flights, the first and second place teams in each flight will
qualify for the play-offs. The first place team
from Flight I plays the second place team for Flight II and the first place
team from Flight II plays the second place team from Flight I. The winners
of the first match will play for 1st and 2nd place. The losers in the
first match will play for 3rd and 4th. The bolded team is the home
team.
- If there are three flights, the first place team
in each flight and one wild card team (the second place team with the best
record) will qualify for the play-offs.
- The draw will be made as soon as all four
teams have been determined.
- Defaults are an unfortunate and inevitable
part of playing league. As has been done in the past, a default will count
as an average of the games lost per round from their actual matches
played.
- Protest must be in writing 24 hours after the completion of a match.
- The first and second place teams in each level will qualify for state
playoffs in Houston. The third place team may travel to the play-offs as an alternate. Teams
not able to participate in the play-offs will be replaced by teams in the
league.
- Players will be given one extra week at the end of the regular schedule
to complete all matches in their flight. After that date, all unplayed matches will be
considered a default/loss by both teams.
